Our program focuses on using certified organic products as well as the utilization of 25(b) Exempt products, which are considered completely non hazardous to human health when used as directed. When traditional chemicals are used, we always select the safest products that are mixed at extremely diluted amounts.

How Our Eco-Friendly Lawn and Turf Care Works

Our eco-friendly program is designed to foster both a healthy lawn and a robust soil ecosystem. Here’s how we work:

  1. Bottom up turf development: At Green Queen we believe that healthy turf starts from the roots up. Our program is designed with soil health in mind. This leads to healthy, strong roots which make the lawn more resistant to drought, disease, and weeds.
  2. Reduced Chemical Input Weed Control: We strive to provide the best weed control possible while also limiting our chemical applications. Our standard Organic + program utilizes only 2 traditional chemical sprays to help prevent weeds before they start. We apply this product at a highly diluted rate with the average lawn receiving less than an ounce of actual product over the entire lawn per treatment! No pre-emergent is perfect so there may be weeds that come up in between these treatments. For this we work directly with you to determine what is best for your needs.
  3. Conscious Fertilization: We apply just the right amount of nutrients at just the right time. This allows for the grass to utilize all of the nutrients we apply, preventing runoff into local water systems and volatilization into the atmosphere. All of our fertilizers are also OMRI certified and made from either organic material or naturally formed nitrogen containing minerals.
  4. Scheduled Maintenance: Regular treatments are applied every 4-8 weeks, ensuring continuous improvement of soil health and lawn vitality.

Our 100% Organic Lawn Care Program

We understand that every person’s needs and lawn goals vary, for that reason we offer a variety of programs to fit your individual needs.

Organic +: This is our standard program. This program uses all organic fertilizers combined with 2 traditional weed pre-emergents per year to prevent weeds before they start. In between these treatments we use our 25(b) Exempt salt based weed sprays to keep emerging broadleaf weeds suppressed. This helps foster a healthy, thick lawn with minimal use of traditional weed control chemicals! For some of the tougher weeds that do not respond we may sometimes recommend traditional weed control spot treatments at no extra cost. In this program you have the option to select traditional spot treat on an as needed basis, or at your discretion, with direct approval only. This means you will only get these products when you want them!

Hybrid Lawn Care: This program is for those who want a more eco friendly and safe lawn, but also want it as weed free and green as possible at a reasonable cost. This program uses the same mindset as our Organic + program, however, it utilizes more traditional weed control and fertilizers, combined with organic practices, to provide a healthy green, relatively weed free lawn at about half the chemical input of a traditional lawn company. We still select the safest weed control products on the market and apply nutrition in a way that is less prone to run-off or volatilization.

Full Organic Turf Care: This program is for all our serious eco warriors out there! This program uses only registered organic and natural products on the lawn. Your lawn will never see a traditional chemical. It operates off the same program as our Organic + program but without any traditional weed sprays. It is important to note that with reduced weed control, this program requires customers who are willing to take a very active role in their lawn care. This program is subject to qualification as not all lawns will respond well to this program.

Organic Grub Control: We are excited to be able to offer an all natural, 25(b) Exempt Grub control treatment! This treatment utilizes a biological method to target grubs specifically without presenting danger to non target, beneficial insects, like earthworms or bees, while also being significantly safer than traditional grub control products

Organic Liquid Aeration: Our advanced liquid aeration technique enhances soil aeration without disrupting the lawn’s surface, improving water retention and nutrient absorption to support strong root systems.

Disease Control: With our temperate and often wet climate, lawns can sometimes develop lawn diseases in the form of fungi that attack the turf and cause large patches of discoloration. We offer both preventative and curative treatments for disease. There are currently no practical organic disease control options so for this reason we currently only offer traditional disease treatments. These treatments are very safe and applied as fine granules that quickly dissipate into the soil, so there are no serious safety risks with these applications.
